1996 7.3 problems need help asap!
Alright I just got a 1996 7.3 2x4 single cab long bed dually.
Their was a small antifreeze leak running down the oil filter and I was told it was the oil cooler. I replaced gaskets and put back on the truck. I drove the truck some last night and theirs still a antifreeze leak in the same spot... their is no coolant in the oil as I just did a oil change when I put the cooler back on.. does this mean that the oil cooler is bad?
after driving the truck in stop and go traffic for 30 miles the temp reading never reached above the n on normal? So is it running super cool? And if so whats the fix for that? The upper radiator hose is holdiny pressure and the over flow tank is properly filled.
after driving today I reached up under the truck and grabbed the oil filter cause thats where the antifreeze is leaking and to my surprise the oil filter was really hot and so was the oil cooler is this normal? It was right after I got home so I wasnt sure if its supposed to be that warm or not.
The water in fuel light was on so I drained the bowl till it was empty and then turned the key 4 times to get fuel back in the bowl and started it. The light went out but on my way home today it came back on... so whys it back on?
Then I also need to know both fuel sizes of the tanks. 1996 Single cab long brd f350 dually... trying to calculate my fuel milage.
Im new to the powerstroke world and grately appericiate the help!
