Charging problems Please help

i just replaced the alternator and it still wont charge the system. is there some sort of relay, fuse or anything i am missing that would not allow the batteries to charge.

the old alternator was tested and it was said to be broken i dont know what to do

The cable going from the alternator to the battery could be bad.

I would check that out.

i am getting no voltage out of the alternator either and it is brand new

i am going to get the new alternator tested tommorow, i hope i just got a bad one. but if it is good does anyone know what else could be causing this problem

It's either Fuse 29 or 30 for "turning on" the alt.

I had this same problem, fuse was visually good, but the fuse socket was worn out. I had to physically bend the fuse a little to get good connection. Someone had used a fuse tap on the fuse block under the dash and bent up the fuse socket.

I went through 3 alternators before I figured out that my fuse connection was intermittent.

that worked its a 5 amp fuse that was burnt out number 29

thanks alot jdholder i think you saved me a ton of headaches and money

I'm glad!!! Mine was more of a pain in that the fuse was GOOD, but the fuse block was bad, making intermittent connection. Really hard to troubleshoot my issue. I'm glad you are back charging again!!
