Truck broke Down and I'm nearly broke too

Well I don't have a lot of cash so I'm hoping this isn't going to cost over 1000. I just can't afford to spend $$$ right now.

Well The Ford mechanic called today, and wants 3025 bucks to replace the HPOP (you guys nailed that), an ICP and some kind of elbow needed to go along with the HPOP. And he wasn't sure if this would totally fix it either, he said that there wasn't enough "pressure" to determine what else might be wrong.
I can't afford this (maybe I just can't afford to drive 6.0 Ford diesels)... I'm considering limping the truck home and letting someone else quote it, maybe another dealer, maybe some independant mechanics. I am seriously distressed about this. Thankfully, I have a back up to drive so the dealer doesn't have the upper hand completely.

yeah i feel ya. i have parts going left and right on my dodge that i DD and its getting expensive! (feel free to rag on the dodge at this poitn i dont give a flying f%^% im not satisfied with it lol)

how much mechanic can you do, before I would have the HPOP replaced I would check oil pressure at each head with a manual guage. I have seen one head hold more pressure than the other and found a blown oring on an injector. 2 hours of work, 2 dollar oring fix.
