7.3 help!!!

Ok yall im in need of some help here.my buddy has a 2002 F350 cclb 2 wheel drive 7.3 with 124k mi.He was having problems with it running rough and stalling whenit was cold. Had his nephew(just started diesel school and thinks hes a master tech) changed cps and valve cover harnesses.he didnt put the new pig tails on i found out when i got into the truck.it would no longer stall but it was running rough and was low on power.i got the truck.cyl contribution test showed number 5 cylinder was down.heres my mistake.i unplugged each imjector 1 at a time and confirmed number 5 was bad.i replaced the harness pig tails already and i made the mistake of assuming the new harnesses were good.so i replaced the injector.i wound up eating that $150 because the uvc harness in that side was the culprit.truck ran fine.gave my buddy back the truck that morning. Called me tht night said he was soo happy he had his baby back.put almost 200 miles on it tha day and said it was running perfect. That was sunday.calls me monday afternoon.he went to take the truck to work instead of his commuter car.started it up,idled about 2 to 3 minutes,and pulled out the driveway(its about 50 degrees in the morning here)he gets about half a mile away and it dies at a stop sign.takes about 5 minuted of crankin to start back up.it will start and run if you keep the throttle up to about 2000rpm but will xut off in about 10 to 15 sexonds.he gave me the truck back.i always let them run about 15 minutes before i leave for work so the last 2 days its been fine.was running late this morning so i fired it up and took off.half mile down the road ahe died.crankin the hell out of it it will start if i hold the throttle to the floor.will come up to 2500 rpm but drops off and stalls after about 10 to 15 sexonds.i killed the battery crankin it so my brother brought me a new one.put it in.took a little crankin but fired up and has been running great all day.it only does it first thing when its cold if you dont let it idle for ten minutes before you drive it.also the CEL comes on every 5 sexonds for 5 seconds for the first few miles then it goes away.any ideas would greatly help!!
