I just don't know... but maybe this will help... I went home last night and took out the big 4WABS 60A fuse and everything on the instrument cluster seems to have started working normal and the truck isnt coming on by itself anymore. So i guess that it is just the abs wiring or module or whatever that burned up???

abs is worthless anyway. If you really need to stop fast in slippy conditions it won't let you stop fast. I almost hit a truck in my f150 on ice cause of abs. i pulled the plug on it in both my trucks. Never heard of one catching on fire before though

I have the same problem with the stopping part. Everyday on my way home from work I hit this bump just before a stop sign. The ABS releases the brakes and I have to mash them harder. It has become a game to me now...lol

just unplug the abs module and your brakes will revert to the old system. I keep mine plugged in for the most part but when I am in the slushy stuff or around ice i unplug it. Hey, when conditions make it hard to stop one needs to maximize his ability to stop not decrease this ability just so he may crash into something in a straight line. The first time this ever happened to me was in the Shasta moutains in a mild storm with ice. i was going 5mph and saw a truck sitting side ways in front of me a good distance away so hit the brakes. The abs kept me straight but i didnt hardy slow down and ended stopping only a couple of feet from the truck when i should have stopped a hundred feet or more away. Scared me

well thats easier said than done... the plug is melted and the wires burned so it won't unplug cause it is all one piece all melted together... but pulling the fuse didn't fix it which should be the same idea

pulling the fuse isnt gonna stop a fire that was already burning. Thats gonna be a job replacing all that wireing. Good luck

Ok yall see how long ago i started this post, well the issue still isn't straightened out. It is in the shop right now, the truck still doesn't have its normal amount of power and the abs light is still on abs doesnt work and the speedometer doesnt work. When you hook the scan tool up on it to check the abs it says unable to communicate with the abs, which is why we have put two different abs assemblys on it now and you guessed it, same problem. We have checked all the wiring, and did pinout tests or pinpoint tests or whatever on all the wiring for the abs as well. I think now we are down to that it may possibly be the PCM somehow, or the instrument cluster itself. All the fuses and junk are testing good, but someone also mentioned it may be the fuse block.... any helpful input would be greatly appreciated seeing as how my truck has now been broken for about 4 months.

That sucks dude. Have you pulled the cluster or the PCM and looked to see if anything is visibly burnt?
