EGR Help!!

My Dad and Grandpa are driving back to MN from our Home in TN. They are 10 miles south of Cincinatti and his EGR went out and his truck is smoking like a chimney. He has a 2005 F350 6.0
He is at a Ford dealership and they are charging him $2,300 to fix it and it will take about 2 days.

Anyone in that area that could give us some advice?

Should he do an EGR delete or just have them fix it?
Are there any shops close by that could do it better/cheaper?

Thanks!
FFJ

that is pretty cheap, they need to replace the oil cooler also. I also run the customers intakes through a power wash machine to clean all the carbon. 2,300$ is a good estimate, cheaper than my estimates lol
