Unhappy 7.3 kind of starts

I didn't want to jack Quadracers post but I am having about the same problem. Temperatures dropped here in Utah but the truck had been running fine. Got in it for work this morning and the batteries were dead. Jumped it, got it going and let it warm up for about 5 minutes, so far so good. Got down the street about 100 yards and that is all she wrote. I towed it back to the yard, plugged it in, put the battery charger on it and let it sit for the day. The batteries were kind of old so put two new interstates in. Cranks fine but just won't quite start, chugs and smokes but no run. I replaced the glow plug relay, and checked power to it all good. I put some power service in the filter bowl still no start. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

So long story short-- 2 new batteries, new glow plug relay, power going to relay, power service in filter bowl, temps out side 20 deg

Thanks for any help

Oh sorry I don't have a scanner, but no check engine light, unless the engine needs to be running to get a light

How about your CPS? Is it original or new??
Change it if it's original.
