Hydro boost line
Ok while cruising down the road. I had to do an emergency slam on the brakes. Well now one of the hydra boost lines are leaking.
Anyone know how much this line will be at the dealership. Autozone is 28.99 but I have to order it online. The store doesn't even carry them. Last edited by bigcountrysg : 09-26-2008 at 05:42 PM. |

Ok to add to this. I know it is one of the lines leaking. I found on another site that there are o-rings to seal the lines. Kinda like the HPOP system. So what I am wondering now is can I use an o-ring from the local hardware store to get me through the weekend. I guess it is worth a try I mean it is already leaking so what can it hurt. |

this is my daily driver. Right now when I drive it when I get to my destination I check the powersteering fluid and refill it as needed. This just happened today so I am hoping I can get it fixed tomorrow morning somehow. Can I use any o-ring that is the correct size or does it have to be a special one.

Well no o-ring there. I tried to use teflon tape as that is how it looked when I took it apart. But it still leaked. I have identified which line it is. It is the line from the hydro boost to the steering gear. Problem is no one carries this in stock. They carry the one from the pump to the hydro boost. So now tomorrow I will see if the local parts store that makes hydraulic hoses can make me one for this application. |

Well I got the line to stop leaking. I don't know for how long though. But my powersteering pump is whining and gets louder when you turn the tires or step on the brakes. It never ran out of fluid. But the fluid did get low. I am hoping that maybe it is just air in the pump. But if not I guess I will have to replace the pump this weekend.
