911 HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!

GUYS,

I HAVE A 2003 DUALLY WITH THE 6.0. IT STARTED MAKING A RATLLE NOISE AT IDLE AND LOW RPM.

I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THINKING IT WAS A TRANNIE PROBLEM (LOOSE FLYWHEEL OR TORQUE CONVERTER) COVERED UNDER WARRENTY.

THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE EGR VALVE!


WILL THAT MAKE THIS SOUND?????

HELP FAST, I DON'T WANT TO CHASE SHADOWES, THANKS

NOT REALLY SMOKEING JUST NOISE

IT EXCELERATES GOOD, JUST THE DAMMMMM NOISE.

THEY SAYED THE NOISE WAS FROM DETONATION AT IDLE WITH THE EGR OPEN,

AFTER I GIVE HER GAS SHE QUIETS DOWN BUT GETS LOUD AGAIN AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE GAS.

I WATCHED A YOU TUBE VIDEO THAT HAD THE SAME SOUND AND THE GUY SAID IT WAS A STUCK EGR. BUT I WANT TO FIRM THIS MYSTERY UP BEFORE I SPEND 375 ON A NEW ONE.

most of the time when an egr valve is sticking open, yes it could make that noise ,but usually will have smoke along with it , knowing the egr problems a 6.0 is plagued with , its very possible

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

ALL MY MONEY IS PUT IN THE TRUCK ALREADY AND CANT AFFORD A NEW EGR RIGHT NOW.

I TOLD THE DEALER THEY WERE FULL OF SH^$& BECAUSE I HAD NEVER HEARD SUCH A NOISE FROM A EGR VALVE. I GUESS I NEED TO APPOLOGIZE TO THEM.

I HAVE A EDGE WITH JUICE PLATINUM PROGRAMMER AND 5'' STACKS, WILL THIS HELP OR HURT, IN THE FUTURE?

what i woud do is pul the egr valve and see if its clogged or stuck open, clean it , i usually dont tell people that but if you dont have the money try to clean it , make sure its not hung open and try it , the reason for the noise is like in a gas engine , its like a spark knock but a hel of alot louder in a diesel , im not sure if thats your problem or not , but try what i said and see , let us know
