05 6.0 wont start

I've got an '05 F250 with 125k miles that wont start this morning. It's completely stock except for exhaust. I went outside to start it, and it cranks, but won't start. It worked just fine yesterday going to and from work. On my way home yesterday I was nearly empty, and filled the tank half-way. Bad fuel maybe? I checked my fuses, and their all good. I'm not sure about the relays. My batteries are at 8.5 and 9v while not running. Is that too low?

Thanks

put a charger on it, check your fuel filters, both on the frame and on top of the motor. i would say that you picked up dirt/water from the bottom of your tank going that low in fuel. a 12v batt should be sitting in the 13 voltage range, then under load they should drop til about 10 volts. my batteries are new and mine go dead all the time.
hope this helped....

I've got a charger on it, but it still won't start. I'd change the fuel filters, but since the truck is parked in the street I'd probably lose my legs in no time fast! I guess my only option now is to get it towed to the shop.

My batteries where both on the weak side sometime ago. I'd put them on the charger for about an hour then turn the charger over to "start" and it would just barely start. I drove over to the closest Auto Zone, bought two new batteries, leaving it running while I was there, got home and changed them out. Problem simply no longer exists. It seems, even though there are two batteries, that these diesels seriously require proper voltage and draw to start.

Ken....

The shop called me this morning and said they can't find anything wrong with it. It's started for them every time since they got it yesterday. The guy I talked to also said there were no codes stored in memory. What is going on with my truck? Any ideas?
