Leaking diesel bad

here it is short and sweet..........

The diesel is leaking from a little black hose. When you look under the front and towards the pass side, the little black hose is hanging down beside the motor. It's coming out at idle and driving faster than an A/C drip would come out...... Please help!!!!! We are getting ready to leave for the holiday

did you try and trace where that black hose is at? it might be a simple plug and go.

Could possibly be the o rings have gone bad on the drain valve. I just replaced mine recently because i was leaking a lot of diesel fuel. i crawled underneath and it was coming from a small hose near the passenger side.i traced it back and found where the hose went to. it turns out my o rings in the drain valve were bad.

hope this helps

i ordered my orings from dfuser.com. they have them fairly cheap but you may be able to check with ford they may have some at the dealership

Yeah check the yellow lever on the drain first. Hopefully its open a little, if not it probably is the o-rings.

Here is where we are at.....

I fired up the truck and let it idle for about 5 mins. I had a co-worker look at the line that the fuel was leaking from earlier (see pic. this is a snap shot of the motor (pass side) through the wheel well. The circled line looks to be metal tubing, not a rubber hose. When I opened the fuel drain valve, my co-worker said it was not coming from that line. I then proceeded to rev the truck a few times (not above 2k) to see if it would leak. Of course, it didn't. But I would like to know what the tubing is and if I have more than an o-ring problem.

Thats not a fuel line, but I can't get a good perspective of what or where it is?

Mine looked like it was coming from somewhere else too because it was hitting the cross member after watching for a few minutes i saw where it was actually coming from and it was coming from the small metal hose that runs right down the passenger side on the front of the motor. Maybe this will lend a little insight on your problem .

good luck with finding out the problem and hopefully you want have to spend and arm and leg to fix it

I think that's it! The pic is through the wheel well on the pass side. The circle on the tube looks like it comes from the front of the motor, attaches there by a clip, and bends around to the side of the motor by about 4 inches. Is that what you're talking about?
