is it possible for anything to get loose and just make it impossible? pulley three is held on by the second belt (secondary alt) tensioner. I have gone over the routing, made sure the belt is actually in the ribs and still no go. I bought a new belt before I got into this and they are the same size. I just dont understand how it came off wiked easy and is impossible to install.

I have the correct routing, the belt is correctly in the groves, the tensioner is maxed out, and it seems that it just has no more give which I need about 1 more inch.

The tensioner's tab was in. What happened was the belt was twisted or pinched inbetween the block and tensioner pulley. From the top it looked like it was fine, but it wasnt ha ha ha so I am dumb. three years as a blackhawk mechanic and being an ASE diesel tech didn't help me on this one.
