No dash/tail lights!

Truck lost its dash and tail lights....I'm across the country and a little lacking for trouble shooting tools. Towing a camper nonetheless.

Checked and swapped underdash fuses no change
Put a jumper to blue/red wire everything lights up. Hooked that up to a switch but the headlight switch gets hot so that's not a quick fix.
Bought a new headlight switch and that didn't solve the problem.
Also tried re grounding the black wire but that didn't do anything either.


I've got about 5000 miles more to drive to get back home. Need to figure out ASAP.

Does the blue/red get power from the head light switch? Can I just give that power from my External switch and disconnect it from the headlight switch so it doesnt get hot?

Anybody have a link to the wiring diagram at least?

Having running/trailer lights would be great at the very least......glowsticks work good enough to get my by for the dash.....
