'97 F250 headlights flash on and off
About five years ago, while driving at night with the headlights on, the lights just went out, then back on, off, on, off, etc. The shop replaced my turn signal, dimmer switch, wiper switch, which solved my problem until last winter. I finally got it into a shop and they replaced the switch again. Last night was the first time I've driven it at night since getting it back from the shop and the lights were on again off again. It doesn't seem to matter whether the pickup is moving or not. Of course I can go out and turn the lights on and they may stay on for hours (especially if the mechanic is standing there watching). Any ideas, could it be the light switch itself? I did taint the mechanics troubleshooting by telling him what fixed the problem last time and he wasn't able to recreate the problem so took my suggestion and replaced the dimmer switch.
One night I was traveling down the highway (in a different pickup) and saw an oncoming vehicle that seemed to be having the same headlight problem as me. I slowed down to see what he was driving, and sure enough it was an OBS Ford. Did I just happen to pass the only other OBS in the country with the same problem? Thanks in advance.
