Hi, I recently purchased 2000 f350 7.3. When I accelerate, I can tell the turbo is not spooling up, and all i hear is a ch ch ch ch ch ch ch (as in cheese) the ch ch ch ch ch ch ch noise increases as the rpms climb. It is very loud under hard acceleration but when I am cruising at 55 its not loud, but still noticeable.
Today I had my friend look at my wastegate lever. When I give it some gas, it does not move at all. I know it is supposed to be moving.
I originally thought the wastegate was stuck open, but after trying to move the arm on it I could move it out about a half inch, there was a lot of resistance, like it was spring loaded. Not sure how the solenoid works or actuator or whatever u call the whole wastegate mechanism, but it would go back in place after I let go. So now I just can't figure out why the arm isn't moving when the engine is on/accelerating.
Again, my friend said the lever does not move at ALL when i give it gas.
So now I can't really figure out what the problem is..all i know is i hear a ch ch ch ch ch ch noise and turbo wastegate is not working properly.
