Coolant Temp sky rockets

I'll make it short.

1. Got the truck around a month and a half ago. Had diagnostics ran on it, everything was perfect.

2. Got the SCT Tuner with Vivian's Looney installed exactly one week ago.

3. The last couple days my fan started turning on, but then off shortly after. Temp's have been in the 50's...

4. Left today for Tampa (home)...OEM coolant temp gauge pegged all the way in about 10 min. Running 70 on I75

5. It's at the dealer now, they said it's most likely my cooler, no kidding.

6. They also said they would check my gaskets, now if they call me back and say I need them, how can I be sure? Truck wasn't blowing any smoke, just hot. I am active duty and my leave ends today....this blows!!!! Now I'm stuck in Warner robins, ga until my truck gets fixed.

Sorry to hear this, did you see any signs of puking from the coolant reservoir? Also, on a side note, did you change your truck back to stock before bringing it to them?

No puking that I could see around the cap, returned to stock before dropping her off.

Okay, good deal. Not sure how accurate the stock coolant gauge is... did you get a Check Engine Light?

Nothing. I had a check engine light on the last few days, it was for a glow plug though. I could hear the coolant boiling when I popped the hood.

Okay, just a few more questions to get out of the way (for basic info) then hopefully a tech will see this and help you out... I've read your sig, but just want to be sure, is your EGR deleted? Do you have studs? Any other mods?

Also, I live in Bonaire (pretty much in Warner Robins) and the Ford Dealership on Watson isn't a bad place, they'll work with you. James, the service manager (shorter, bald guy) is awesome, and Billy (one of their diesel techs) is a good guy too. Hopefully they'll be good to you and get you on your way shortly.

Jesus... there's another shop here in town that comes highly recommended by the several local diesel owners. I know for a fact that they'd be cheaper.

I appreciate it. It's already been shelled out though. I had to hurry up and get that thing back on the road so I can get home. Now I have to find out if I can join one of these class action lawsuits going around.
