GELLED FUEL/SUCKED AIR?? NEED QUICK INPUT PLEASE

Ok so I'm supposed to go buy a 94.5 powerstoke this kid has for sale for $1500 Thursday. He doesn't know a thing about diesels and said it was drivin fine and never tried using the front tank and while drivin switched tanks and it sputtered and died and now wont start. My immediate assumption is maybe the fuel in the front is gelled or really contaminated so it clogged the filter or the pump in that tank doesn't work or something else that made it suck up air and now it of course won't start for said reason. Tricky thing is I'm in Texas for tech school in Tx for the Air Force and my buddy in Ky will be buying and picking it up for me so I would greatly appreciate some EDUCATED input please. I figure its cheap and I believe it to be a cheap and or easy fix. So let's see what yall think. Thanks in advance.

If you're getting a good deal, invest the money to find out what the problem is first. You're buying a Pig-in-a-Poke otherwise and could get really stuck.

Don't trust ANYTHING the current owner says! He may know LOTS about diesels

Haha indeed I am a bit of a gambler when it comes to vehicles. I actually make a living off buying and sellin em. But I'm figuring for a 4x4 5 speed psd for $1500 I cant go wrong. The kid has a video of the truck running the day it stopped when he flipped the tank and i could easily get my money back if all else failed. Would just much rather get it running and keep it of course lol. We'll see how it goes I guess but still any more thoughts would be appreciated. And thanks for your concern, i see the validity in your thoughts.

Ok well not much action on this thread but an update anyway, bought the truck and it was exactly as expected, gelled fuel all in the bowl. Runs great! I should go to a casino lol.
