What the heck??
I just got a 99 f350 7.3 w/ 6speed manual. I just rebuilt most of the motor and got it all back together and the o-ring on the fuel filter split while I was on the second test drive. By the time I got pulled over and found the leak, the valley was FULL of diesel. WHAT THE HEY - the drain for the top of the motor goes thru the bell housing and out these two ovals on the bottom of the bellhousing?? Or is my normal drain messed up somehow? After duesching the valley with 2 cans of brake clean I think I MIGHT have saved the clutch. So - my question is - is this normal or do I have some drain plugged up somewhere and the alt. route is thru the bellhousing? It seems pretty bad if this is the way it is designed....the water-fuel drain empties right thru there also.....
Thanks! Pete |
