It was my EGR cooler that went bad and the snow white smoke was my coolant being burned. It alsmost overheated the truck because it ran so low on coolant. Figured I'd help any one else out that may have this problem.

OK, Here I go, Don't laugh to hard after you read the question.

I was not aware that the EGR had a cooler. I am having the same problem as above - white smoke, no power after 30 feet and so on.
My question is:
1 - Where is the EGR cooler? I did not see it when I was looking today.
2 - Is this a common problem? If so what can I do to eliminate this happening again?
3 - I know it was mentioned not to try to clean it, Don't try to clean it because it will not become clean or is it just a waste of time?
I just started to have problems witht he truck after 4 years and had to be towed home a few days ago. What a problem that was with an enclosed trailer hooked up. I thought I died due to a clogged fuel filter. I changed the fuel filter on the side of the road with a flash light (10pm). Then the truck started and I took off like I was being chased. Well, About 1,000 feet later I died again. Thinking that I lost the prime due to alot of fuel coming out with filter. I had it towed home.
I am wondering if this was caused by the EGR. The CEL came on a few hours earlier with P0404. What a week.
Thanks,
Rob
