Truck shut off will not restart!!!!

The last couple of day my truck has felt a little sluggish and didn't seem to have the power it normally has. This morning on my way to work the truck started running really bad then shut off. I thought maybe the switch for the tanks quit working and didnt change tanks when the rear ran low so I thought I may have run the rear tank dry. I went over at lunch time to put some fuel in the rear tank and removed the filter housing cover and the housing was full of fuel. I tried to start the truck and it will turn over but will not start, it didnt even try to start. I am stuck it seems to be getting fuel but it still wont start. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Check your Oil Level too.

Also...is the tach moving while your cranking it over? If not...it's your CPS.

I thought that could possibly be the problem but Im not quite sure. Ive read about them going bad in other posts but I didnt remember the symptoms. Would this have caused my boost pressure to read low. Ive been meaning to post about my boost pressure. When I first installed the banks kit I would get 22-24 psi, but the last month I've been lucky the get 12-15 psi. Not sure if the problems could be related or not. Im not as concerned about the boost right now. Im supposed to start moving to a new house tomorrow and I need to get my truck running. Thanks for any help.

Jason

The symptoms of CPS failure are numerous on the 95-98. Sometimes it will chug, sometimes shut down and restart while cruising, sometimes just cause loss of power, sometimes just quit running all together. They're pretty cheap, and a pretty good first stab at the problem. We keep a spare in our 95 just in case.

also, if your CPS is bad, you won't get fuel at the right time to light the turbo which may cause a low boost condition.

My cousin is leaving here from work right now to check the oil level for me to see if that could be the problem. It has been leaking around the dipstick tube and I havent tightened it in 3 weeks. If thats not the problem there's a very good possibility that it's the cps. Ive never had to change the cps on my truck, where is it located. I will be leaving work at 4pm to see if I can get it fixxed.

Thanks,
Jason

The oil wasnt low. I had my cousin check the tach when he cranked it over and it didnt move. I hope its the cps, my wife just picked one up and the ford dealer for $25 and is on her way to pick me up. If I get this changed and still wont start is there anything else I should look for.

Thanks,
Jason

Changed the cps and there was no change. I unhooked the batteries and came back to the computer. I pulled the lines on both sides of the tank switch and there was fuel in all the lines. There is also fuel in the filter housing. What else could it be? I need to get it running Ive got to move this weekend.

Thanks,
Jason
