7.3 Intercooler line pops off

I have a 2000 F-250 with several mods all done 4 years ago. Just lately my intercooler line will pop off @ high RPMS. There is a slight amount of oil in the line. Whats up with this ?

the crank case oil vapors are sucked into your turbo then blown into your intercooler tubes via the crank case vent on the air intake wich eventualy makes your boots slippery enought to blow off under high boost.

take the boots off and clean them with carb cleaner and after they dry spray some hair spray inside of them and install them back on the cleaned IC tubes

the hair spray works as a mild adhesive and will usualy do the trick if it happens again after you do this then you might need to get some new ic boots

I had this happen a number of times on my 96. My seal in my turbo was leaking oil and saturating the ic tubes. I used exaust clamps on the plumbing and it has not happened since.

Don't tell fibs Willy, I heard you use pop rivets and crazy glue hahaha. Yup a good cleaning and some hair spray will usualy do the trick. You can also double clamp for an extra measure.

Gord.
