Angry fuel pump woes

i am in the process of changing out the fuel pump on a 1996 f250 with the 7.3. when the pump came off the block the shaft that has the push rod did not. it is frozen in the opening and broken off flush with the top of the engine. what do i do,please help!

same problem

I have the same problem shaft broke clean off at block. Did you get yours out? If so how? Please let me know

Could try this....

Hose that bad boy down with some penetrating fluid and then turn the engine over by hand. Socket on the crank bolt.

This would hopefully allow the cam lobe to force the remaining piece up out of the bore.

Or it will allow the tappet to lower, in which case you might be able to retrieve it by inserting something in the bore for the tappet.

That's all I got!

I got it just used a magnet to pull the peice of tappet up and grabbed it with pliers and the whole thing popped right out. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it!
