No Ck Eng Lite, No Codes, Limp Mode
Have lurked for a year, first post, first problem. 03 F250 4x4 CC 6.0, K&N, duall exhaust behind cat, otherwise stock, 2nd owner 107k miles As title says, No Ck Engine light, Could not read anything with Actron CP9145. 1/4: Changed Oil & Filter FOMOCO 15-40 1/5: Truck didn't fully accelerate, bogging down, filled up with fuel and healthy shot of Diesel Kleen. 1/6: 52mi commute, halfway there felt bogging down. Same thing on trip home, Actron CP9145 would not read anything, had a comm error, many tries 1/7: Easy ride to work, ok . That night just off the Base, total Limp mode. Shut off, mistake. Very hard to start. Son in Law tows me to close dealership. Of course he has a Silverado ;-) 1/11: Finally talked to Diesel Tech today: CODE said bad EBP sensor, R/R sensor, said was plugged with gunk. CODE said bad FICM, R/R with supposedly known good shop FICM. Now reports intermittent failures. Now believes that there is a harness failure as the EBP is intermittent good and bad and failure codes change. I do not have codes and this is a one tech/horse dealership loaded with diesels, my reqular dealership is 70 miles away, they have 10 techs and a large clean and heated diesel shop. Tech seems to be knowledgeable, but stressed by his work load, he admitted he was looking for an easy fix first, but has to move to other trucks and hopes to get back to mine soon Any insight would be appreciated, I am really curious why the Actron CP9145 would not read anything and if this is indicitive of the harness problems that early 6.0 suffered from. Thanks in advance for any help. Ric |
