focus dead on road

2000 ford focus bro is coming home from a trip to manitoba, stranded in moosejaw. ran fine until shutdown, now no lights anywhere inside or out, even key on dash is dead. any place in particular to check? any ideas or help appreciated

Its a day later so I'm sure hes got it fixed, but has he checked battery cables?

I'm thinking alternator died and then once the battery was dead it couldn't push enough juice to the spark plugs and therefor it is dead..

thanks turns out my ground cable is having issues at the engine end. jumper cable from battery to block got her going. alt and battery great, jumper cable an she spun up like new
