06 F350 DRW, 12K miles

Just bought this truck. It appeared to be in GREAT shape. Day two the check engine light has come on. I got it to autozone and they said the error was "P0299 Turbo/Super UnderBoost"

What can you guys tell me about this? Easy fix or big deal??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Judd

Looking at your miles I would go straight to the dealer!!! Do you have any mods to your truck??? Have you noticed anything different in your power or turbo spooling???

I will get it to the dealer. Was just worried about how serious it is. I am took a vacation day to go out of town this weekend and really needed the truck friday. Afraid to drop it off tomorrow and not get it back, but I guess I don't have a choice.

Thanks for the advice guys!

UPDATE:

I talked to three differant dealers about the truck today. I stoped by one while working today. Talked to their "expert". He claimed it was no big deal and told me it was just a fluke. Something about it just sitting there for a while on the lot and then me running it. He said if i brought it in that he would just reset the code.

He didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy.

Sooo.. I called another dealer in a differant city close by, Talked to the lady in charge at the service desk. I told her the error code and the message. She told me that it meant they had to take the turbo off and clean it all and reinstall it. Take them about three days and they are booked till June. ((Totally opposite of what the first told me)) She also told me that it wouldn't hurt it to be driven until then.

Soooo.... I decided to take the truck to a dealer in my small town. Let them rerun the test and tell me what they thought. They tested it and suggested resetting the message and reflashing and updating the computer system.

So far trick three seems to be working out.
