Look at FICM_L, FICM_M and FICM_V under all conditions. FICM_L and FICM_V should be at, or close to 12 volts (system voltage basically). FICM_M should read between 47.5 to 49 volts. If you see FICM_M dropping to less than 45 volts, that's a given that the FICM is toast. Usually when the FICM is out, you'll get P0611 and/or all eight injector circuit low DTCs. If the FICM PIDs are all within range, you'll need to look elsewhere. FICM SYNC and SYNC should switch from "no" to "yes" when you crank the engine over. This means the PCM is getting the proper CMP and CKP inputs. If that checks out, monitor your ICP volts, ICP psi, IPR duty cycle and RPM PIDs. Your ICP volts should indicate between 0.15 to 0.35 volts at key-on/engine-off (I prefer between 0.18 to 0.24) and climb to a MINIMUM of 0.8 volts for the engine to start. ICP psi should indicate 0 at key-on/engine-off and climb to a MINIMUM of 500 psi for the engine to start. ICP desired and ICP psi should match closely as you crank the engine over. Engine cranking RPM should be between 150 to 200. The OP already stated fuel is getting to the secondary fuel filter housing so I doubt fuel supply is an issue.

You guys are amazing. I can't believe you help complete strangers like this, I wish m-chan68 was running for something so I could vote for him.
I couldn't change my own oil unless I Googled it but I could probably rattle off similar information about Windows or Mac based computers, networking, etc... I run a local onsite computer repair/consulting business and I don't ever give out free help unless it's for a family member but if any of you guys need assistance I'll help in any way I can. I'm about to be a first time diesel owner and it's VERY reassuring to know I have a group of obviously intelligent people to come to if I ever have issues or need a second opinion to double check the local shady mechanics in my small town (nothing against auto mechanics, I'm sure there's twice as many shady computer techs out there). |
