Power stays on to guages
I just finished installing my guages and the lights stay powered up with the key off. I used the power supply that the Ford shop told me to.Is it okay to have them stay on? Or do I need to find another source?

You can leave it if you want a dead battery. I suggest finding a new power source. What year truck do you have. Are you sure they stay on even after you open your door and walk away after the dome light shuts off. Some trucks like my 2002 F-250 the lights stay on for a couple minutes even after you shut the truck down and get out. Then the dome light and head lights shut off. Have you checked this. Also you may have accidently tapped into the wrong wire thinking you got the right one. I would double check this, if you do have the right wire then I would find a new power source.

Run the wire off the dimmer switch on the dash, then they will dim with the dash lights. Just use a continuity tester to find the one that powers up the lights of the dimmer and get dimmer or brighter as you turn the wheel, and tape into it.
