Hot Chicks!!!!

Hi everyone. Sorry to mislead anyone but I really need help with this one. This is a repost so I hope someone can help as I use this truck to make money with.

I have a 2003 F550 flatbed 6.0 5 speed with 151000 miles. I'm getting 2 codes. One is a P0730 and the other is P2700. It only starts flashing when it's cold or when I put it in tow/haul. Once I turn the key off it stays off unless I put it on tow/haul. The transmission kind of holds its gears when it's cold. I also have lose of power and a little blue smoke on startup sometimes. Once it is warm I have no problems. I used Lucaus injector cleaner for the last 4 tanks and it seems to have cleared it up a little, but I still have no power when it is cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Hey oxman, the only thing I could come up with on the codes was=p0730--Incorrect gear ratio. And the p2700 i can't find anything at all. But I am not a tech, and don't have the books. It's not unusual for an older truck to need a bit of warm up time, could be your warm up valve not shutting off with the pedal movement, not a big deal, but will have a lose of power until it releases. But my experience is with the 7.3. One of the techs will be along and will give you a better idea of what is going on.

Gord.

LOL. I'm sure it's p2700. I had someone scan it with a snapon. It said something on the line of performance something. I wish I had wrote that down. Both codes are transmission codes as he scanned the tranny only. What does Incorrect gear ratio mean? It has the same rear end in it from the factory a 4.88 dana.

Now as I promised your Hot Chicks!!!

got me

the hot chicks title got me too. I know that mine needs quite a bit of warm up time (5-10 minutes) when it is cold or it just does not want to run really well until it warms up. I plug in the block heater when I know it is gonna get cold....helps alot. Checked my Superchips code book and my Chilton manual....could not find a 2700 code. Now get those hot chick pictures up!!!

I don't know what that one means, just pulled it of the net for you, and couldn't find an explanation. Sorry.

I'm down here in New Orleans, it really doesn't get cold. The coldest it got this winter was about 35 degrees. I have heard that it is a sign of the injectors going out.

As far as the codes go I'd like to figure it out because I plan on towing a 40' gooseneck trailer in the near future.

I haven't made enough money yet to just bring it to the dealer and let them figure it out for $80 hr. Let alone have the money to do the repair. It might be something that I could fix or diagnose. I mean I do have a 94 Nissan pickup with a ls1 motor with a 6 speed and ford 9 inch that I put together. I just need to know where to start.
