Chugging!
Coming home from a camping trip towing a camper my 2004 6.0 started chugging real bad and emitting black smoke. It lasted for about 10 seconds then cleared up. It happened 3 times coming home during a 3 hour drive...what in the world could this be? I changed the fuel filters a couple of months ago.

The sound coming from the engine sounds like air chugging and then I feel a little shutter and then it clears up.
