Before you disconnect...take something like WD40 and spray the crap out of the catch on the door, spray all around and in the catch..that is where the sensor is...my work truck do it all the time, and I spray and it goes away...dust and dirt build up in there.

WD40 works, but it will leave a film of the lubricant on the handles which in time will cause more dust build up....I used brake cleaner instead.

I have the darn door ajar light and dome light staying on A LOT now. The light will go off after the tach. is above about 1,500.

I tried spraying the door latch with brake cleaner but it did not help. What would you all recommend to fix this? Where exactly should I be spraying, I don't know what the sensor or switch looks like.

You want to spray into the latch on the door itself where it catches the B-pillars. If you look at the door, it is the thing that looks like a little claw in the door edge. The sensor for Door Ajar/Cab light is in that since the did away with door pins. Make sure you get both doors or all if you have a Crew Cab.
