NO BRAKES!!!!!!!

My front brakes started making a nasty grinding noise on my way to work last night an I didnt realy think much bout it till this morning when I was on my way home and it got worse an worse an I could kinda feel the front end draggin a little then I went to stop @ a light and the brake peddal went all the way to the floor an I bout corn holed the car ahead of me!

Any how no fluid leaking or any thing obvious.

Any ideahs what I am going to be getting into once I get every thing tore apart? broken pad or something woulda been my guess but I dunno if that would cause the peddal to mash all the way to the floor.

Ill check back in once I get outa bed.

Oh an the brakes have been working fine and havent made a squeek or chirp or gave any warning signs B4 last night if that helps any.

I would say you have a brake pad problem for the grinding. How is the fluid level in the Master Cylinder" Pedal to the floor sounds like air in the lines. Hope you get her taken care of for not too much out of pocket.

Im kinda wondering if the pad just kinda crumbled up and the sudden void in the caliper caused all the brake preasure to go twards trying to pump that caliper up. The way work keeps forkin me in not guna get a chance to tear into it for a while.

Brakes are not something that can be driven for a while after they start grinding. It is VERY doubt full that the pad fell out. My theory is that the pad is down to the metal. Metal left from pad over heated while trying to stop with no friction material left and boiled the brake fluid in that caliper. Now there is nasty air/ fluid in that caliper. If that is the case your little pad replacement job just turned into pads, calipers and rotors. Price will shoot up dramaticly. JJ
