WHAT
THERE IS NO ORIGINAL CHIP INSERTED ON THE PCM!!
GRRRRR BURNS ME UP..
They did not have to replace the Flipping pcm because it was chipped.
I am betting that the chip has been the problem the entire time.
I would Go in there, and raise fire, brimstone and all hell. That's BS, again, there is no "Original Chip" I'd go so far as to tell them they'd better put the original PCM back in there. (Assuming the vehicle still acts in a similar fashion as before)
However, if the engine was changed before you bought it, in all likely-hood the PCM may have been replaced, and in all likely-hood, if a non-ford shop did the work, they may have plugged the chip back into the new pcm, which may not have been programmed for that pcm.
DID They Not Test Drive the fricken van after they disconnected the chip? I would be willing to bet lots, that they did not and are taking you for ANOTHER parts ride. ALSO, did they call you before they put the new PCM in?
"We found a chip in the pcm, we're going to replace it, is this ok with you?"
IF THEY DID NOT CALL YOU, for you to approve the replacement, then you, legally, do NOT HAVE TO PAY for the pcm, and you can tell them.
I would not accept the vehicle back until they explain this "Original Chip" BULL
The oasis should get back to me tomorrow. BTW oasis stands for On-Line Automotive Service Information System. You plug the vin# into ford's data base and it tells you everything that was ever done to the vehicle (that was done at a dealership)
God......
