It does allow the wastegate to stay shut a bit longer, thus building more boost. And airflow on a diesel is always more important than fuel. If you have the patience to do this before a chip/programmer, then I would say yes. Me, I couldn't wait. I wish I would've known, I just sold a Banks Big Hoss module for the 7.3 94-03 for $200.00, thats a steal. But if you do the wastegate, I'd do the compressor wheel too. Harder install, but remember, airflow first.
