Truck broke Down and I'm nearly broke too
Hello all,
Friday night my 03 F250 6.0 broke down on the interstate and had to be towed to a dealership. The engine had no power to accelerate, it was if it was starved for fuel. I mashed the accelerator to the floor and the RPM's were only about 1800, then slowly went down and I pulled into the emergency lane. The truck just slowly died right there and would not restart.
The tow guy said that it sounded like an injector problem; he said that if I ever let my tank get low (below 1/4) that it was pulling in water and this is what has destroyed my injectors.
Yesterday, I went and topped it off with 10 gallons of fresh fuel and cranked it up, then drained the water seperator a few times (I always drain it when the light comes on). It ran fine for a minute (I could rev it up above 2000 RPM), then I let off to idle, then mashed it again and it only hit 1700 and slowly dropped, so the low RPM thing is repeatable, but not consistent.
Any ideas?
