I had a 6" and 37s and just went up to an 8" and 38s. I like the stance and size of my truck better with the new setup.
I swear by Toyo MTs. I will admit I've had a couple out of round in the many sets I've bought but Toyo and my retailer have been great about warranting it out for a new one asap. My 38's I have now balanced out perfect, are quiet for such a big tire, and wear well as long as they are rotated regularly.
For lift systems I like my 8" Fabtech Radius Arm drop kit. If you are spending $2,200 on tires I think Fabtech is a good 8" lift that you could probably get done with your remaining $2,300.
