the aih has nothing to do with starting.

if you idle it, the engine isn't really warm enough, adn thepossibility of white smoke is there, the pcm throws it on.

some think it could restrict the intake. i'm not convinced.

i replaced mine with threaded pipe converter for 3 bucks, wrapped liberally with teflon tape, and run my boost gauge off it.

i live in the northern lattitudes, currenlty 4 feet of snow outside, and will be something south of zero tonight. when i put it in, i couldn't tell any differnece, ever.

as far as throwing codes, i'd be really shocked if it did. I do not understand how the pcm could know it isn't working.
