Hi I am new here and this is the subject I was looking for. I have an 06 F350 2wd dually Power stroke with automatic trans. 4.30 gear. I put 14k miles on it this summer, pulling a trailer with average of 24,000 gross. it was lucky to see 8mpg no matter what. I could have slowed to 55mph but that would suck. The truck has pretty good power and I dont have a complaint about that. its the empty mileage that I am disapointed in. I am tempted to put a Gear Vendors overdrive on it but I think it should still get better MPG than this.14.5 empty. I run with a guy who bought a new Chevy Within a week of my Ford. he can pull the same trailer and not get less than 12mpg and 19 to 20 empty.
I also have 2 friends that had Banks add the Big Hoss kit to their trucks. They Haul butt and get 2 more mpg than me.
Anybody out there have this same truck with out the tow haul and 3.70 or 4.10 gear? Sorry to be so long winded.
Thanks Dale Pulde
