Ok so I have been wanting a powerstroke for a long time. I want to get a 99-00 ex. cab shortbed 4x4 auto. Mainly this because they have the forged rods and I know it also goes halfway into 01. Anyways I really want the 7.3, only thing is I love the new dark stone metallic, and the new front end. So I figured I could buy a 99-00 and change the front lights, bumper, grill, etc and then have it repainted. Plus if it is black I could just leave the engine compartment black and save a lot of work when painting. Anyways, I can't really afford the truck I want yet but I could trade in and get a 99 f150 (which I have had before but it was the stupid 7700 with 7 bolt wheels). I was just wondering what some of you guys thought about all of this. Should I wait for a few years or get a f150. Right now I am in college again and don't have a lot of money. I have a 94 z28 and a 2000 ford ranger. I like the ranger for the wife but it just sucks it can't tow very much weight when I sometimes need it too. Sorry for the long message but just been thinking a lot lately.
