Very true. The lower lip part that goes over the tailgate and tailgate
step was a major reason I didn't go with a few other brands. The SnugTop's
is definitely more durable material and looks much better. It's rough
like sand paper on the inside of mine, though, ( rough fiberglass? ), and
is scratching a small portion of my plastic on the top of the tailgate. It's
because of the dealer mounting the SnugTop a little to tight up against
the tailgate. I plan to move the shell back about an 1/8" to correct that.
Is there a specific torque for these new fangled clamps when I
go to clamp the shell back down? How will I know when I have it tight
enough? ( Last time I removed a shell I was helping my dad pull one off back
in the 1970's ... it was sticky taped/weather stripped/and bolted
down .... and it had the old bubbled out smoked heart shaped windows
on the sides ...
