Based on what i just read from you guys, i would cycle through the glo plug warm up (getting the fuel pumps pumping right?) then if that stick doesnt work fill the fuel bowl with diesel.
I asked a guy at the ford dealership and he said that all the trucks (im assuming he meant he 99-early 03 rangs) have problems with the sending units. I know my buddies 99 F250 with the gasser v8 has the same issues with the sending unit.
It would be awesome if somebody on here could come up with a fix for it!!

that could be it. with the bad cps will the truck run at all after it dies the first time? or is it different on different trucks?
couldnt hurt to try, pretty simple swap.
