Not trying to hijack your thread, but I have had a similar question and haven't asked it yet. Who makes a 10W-30 diesel oil or lighter? Only thing I can find around me that is dino oil is 15W-40 and I to would like make a it a bit easier for the truck to start this year. There were a few times last year that the truck sounded horrible getting going.
So who makes a dino oil in something less than 15W-40? As much as I would like to run synthetic its not going to happen with this poor college student. I'm going through a career change right now and not working much so I have to cut some stuff back right now.
