I really like this thing. Its a little more aggressive then stock and really helped me out with the EGTs. with my edge in level 2 pulling my boat I only have temps over 1200 if I floor it. With the stock muffler I would hit 1200 much faster with only 50% ish throttle. Then on the freeway cruising I see about 100 degrees less maybe 150 at times. A really nice upgrade ! plus if you read around 3.5 inch exhaust will be good enough till you hit big numbers. us stock to mild moders (chip, intake, exhaust)will see no increase in power with a 4 vs 3.5 pipe. Some even report a little less power down low with a 4inch down pipe. There are guys (strokin early 99 for example) making 450+hp with a 3.5 inch down pipe and a wild turbo....
Installing it was a snap. Cut off the stock muffler, remove the S pipe, measure and cut about 8 inches of pipe on the section still on the truck (I removed the section to cut it standing rather then laying on my back) fit it, clamp it and done.
We are on the boat about 20 feet from the back of the trailer (just backed off)
Pulling the boat out of the water. My dad is babying it. I am sitting in the bed on the wheel well
Then pulling around the parking lot to park and tie it down
Those of you looking for a cheap and easy way to get an exhaust, I recommend it highly! A straight pipe is cool, but the family did not dig the sound... I was out votted... With the windows up, you can not tell a difference stock vs BTM
