You can not control boost the way you are thinking anyway. The map regulator from ITP (or DIY) is going to control how much boost the MAP sensor see's, not what is produced. anything over 20-22 and the PCM will defuel to control boost (that is how you control boost, by backing off the fuel.)

I understand compressor surge. In my turbo cars I had a boost controller that I could install and tune a specific boost. Thought it might be possible with this engine. I guess it's no go on the cruise until I switch wheels.
