the turbo on th 01 isnt that big of a deal, but i wouldnt pull it off just to pull it off, you need to do more research on the code first. as far as the engine swap, you still have to deal with all the electronics that the truck already has, and what effects (warning lights, etc) you will have putting the cummins in. also, how are you planning on controlling your acceleration. the PSD is a fly by wire system so there is no throttle cable.....im not sure on the cummins....and then you have to deal with how to get vacume if you have vacume brakes (im not that familiar with the cummins since im a ford tech) and how to deal with the powersteering lines if you have hydroboost, along with the powersteering lines that are to the gear, the A/C compressor and lines, if the exhaust will even match up, and how radiator lines and the cooling fan will fit. your going to have to adapt fuel lines at the motor.....sounds like a nighmare to me.....you may lose ABS, power window controlls, and a ton of other stuff if the PCM in the ford is flaking out due to not having a motor to recognize.....the ford is just too new to do this with. the only way i could see it working in a ford is if it was an old 6.9 or IDI 7.3
