On the contrary, Ford has been offering a heated windshield option on the Explorer and Explorer Sport-Trac since the '07 model year. Check Ford - Cars, SUVs, Trucks & Crossovers | Ford Vehicles where you can build your own SUV with a heated windshield. Not trying to be a know it all. I work for the blue oval crew, so I take product knowledge very seriously. What can I say? I'm a gearhead geek.

I would bet a gallon of ULSD that the '08 Super Duty manual telescoping or powerscope trailer tow mirrors have no button to engage the heated feature. The reason being, the '08 XL model offers the manual telescoping trailer tow mirrors with power and heat, when ordered with the XL power equipment group...the same mirrors are optional on the XLT trim level as well.

Anyone who has been in or owns and XL truck knows that they are built for a purpose, and that is work. Fancy doo dads and whatnot are not required on a truck of this nature. In fact even things like air conditioning are OPTIONAL on the XL. My point is that the operation of the heated exterior mirrors is intuitive...the truck does it for you. I equate it to the 4X4 system on the '05 and up Ford Escape. The system is called intelligent four wheel drive. There is no push button or dial to engage the four wheel drive...only a small 4X4 insignia on the dash to remind you that the vehicle is a 4X4 and that it will handle engaging and disengaging the system as needed.

Again, I hope this is helpful.
