STACKS question

Hey guys, i really am back on the hunt for some stacks! and was wondering, since my truck is non-turbo and I need some back pressure, how much smaller piping do i need from the start of the exhaust until I can go big and put some staks (5 inch) on? thanks for any help
also, should i muffle it at all? i dont want it tooooo loud lol

i ran 4 inch from the y pipes back into a 4 inch bed kit and 6 inch stacks on my old truck it sounded good but was alittle loud.ive got a set of 6 inch stacks if ur lookin to buy some

i've seen a guy in my area w/ a mid 88's 6.2 chevy diesel, what he did was run 4" from both of the manifolds back and put a 90* on each side an ran 2 seperate 6" stacks, it sounds sweet cruising down the road
