Can i turn the srew up on an 88 IDI

Can i turn the pump screw up to get some smoke out of my 88 IDI diesel. If so wheres the crew at?. Thanks

it is under the triangle cover on the side of the injection pump that 3 bolts in it.take it off,and turn the motor till u can see the allen screw threw the pump and then turn it in.hope this helps let me know if u need anymore help good luck.

its pretty easy. i moved the fuel filter assembly to get in the side better and remove the top bolt it should be like red and loosen the botton swing the shield done its gonna gush some fuel. then turn the mottor over with a 15/16 deep socket and have some stand up there and look wit a mirror and flashlight and u'll see the thing twist inside and a allen hole will appear and u turn it clockwise to advance and counter clockwise to retard it. pretty easy be careful on how much u turn it it could run way if turned way up and watch ur egts goood luck

i turned mine in about 3/4 turn it smoked some but not a whole lot.it it was still a doggy 7.3 n/a.

Il have to take one in the morning. I dnt have one. Its a really clean truck. only has 170k mile son it.
