My 92 F-250 7.3 has a Banks sidewinder turbo setup on it when I got it....
The Banks Boost guage says I'm only hitting 11 pounds of boost. So I'd say there's your safe starting point to get your turbo set up for your truck. |

IDI's run around 21.5:1 Compression ratio. Unless you shaved your pistons, your should be the same (dont know if you have done that or not). Anyways, with 21:1 CR, I would say around 18-maybe 20psi max. Some people push stock CR IDI's to 15psi, I dont, cause I have stock headgaskets and head bolts (bad headgasket design on 6.9's from the factory, and head bolts plain suck, head studs are better). If you want to run a custom turbo, use a stock OBS PSD turbo, or second gen 7.3 psd turbo. It will be custom though, and we require a lot of fabrication and skill.
