boost ur pump, you can also get a turbo which is gonna be badass. after the exhaust and everything you could redo ur fuel system and get bigger lines and a fuel pump and stage 1 injectors. NO chip or anything cause nothin is electric. Also a intake is hard as hell to find, ive looked im thinkin of custom makin mine. thats everything im gonna do maybe change out my rear end idk cause i think i got 4.56 gears

ATS sells a factory turbo upgrade kit, comes with a better exhaust housing for the turbo, and a 3" downpipe. Around $800 if I remember right. When you do that (if you do I should say ), and you have the turbo off, drill one of the exhaust manifolds for a thermocoupler for a pyro. Start the truck up for a second, for chits and giggles (sounds like a crappy big block gasser open exhaust manifolds , I know I did this when I did a turbo install, I didnt get on it though, should have ), and to get all the metal out of the exhaust manifolds so it wont go into the turbo when you put it back on. Then put the turbo back in. Install a pryo, a boost, and if your truck is an auto, a trans temp gauge.

Once you did that, turn up the IP. To do this you have to take the triangular cover off the side of the IP (from the passenger side look at the IP, its towards the back of the IP, and down in the valley pan area). Take two of the bolts of, and loosen the other so the plate can swivel, but doesnt come off, which is a PITA if it does. Rotate the engine until you can see a allen screw in there, 5/32" I believe, use a good allen wrench (cause its locktighted, and you dont want to break anything off in there). Tighten it in to increase fuel. I would turn a 1/4 turn at a time, then watch the pyro, dont go over 1200* for very long.

Thats about all you can do, unless you wanna go crazy. You can get a better pump (the moose pump, pm me if interested). I dont recomend DPS stuff because of really, really bad customer service. Stock G code injectors (injectors out of factory turbo IDI's) are good enough for flow, but if you want more power pm me cause I know this guy who will make you a set of nozzles that flow more with a good spray pattern, but they are around $800 .

Hope that helps.

more power

You guys mention dropping the muffler and using 4" pipe. What about dual 3" without muffler coming straight down from the manifold? I am new and have a f-350 crewcab, 4x4, basic non-turbo. I am wanting to get more power too. Don't know where to start either. I love this truck and will keep til my dieing day. Thanks for the forum and all the great threads.

IDI Stuff

Ats or Hypermax should have the downpipe I think. Banks Maybe?
Intercooler out of a 99up 7.3
Turn the pump up.
Water/Meth works great for the long hard pulls (I love mine)
Gauges (Definately) cause the factory OBS gauges are very unreliable. I'd go with a minimum Pyro, Boost, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp.

Jerry 1700,

Save some pennies and get a turbo of some kind. You won't believe it is the same truck. Best money I ever spent on my 92, hands down!!!!!!!

IDI's are mechanical, there are no chips for it. So unless DP tuner is offering a trans program for the E4OD (which started in 89 I believe), then it wont work. IDI's are mechanical like 12 valve cummins to put it into perspective, you only really truly need 1 12volt wire to run an IDI.
