1993 vrs 2003 ...... In Australia, a shot at a 350 Dually 4x4

I have a 2003 F250 PSD CrewCab 4x4....
I used to have a 1993 F-350, non PSD 7.3

I have a chance to buy another, with high mileage about 200,000 miles on it. Crew Cab, F-350, 8' bed, 4x4 Dually rear, flared fenders unit... 7.3 Navistar..

Question.... How are these trucks still going... Plastic parts like the TPS (Throttle Position Switch) wearing out, getting brittle... Are the parts still available.. I sold my last 93 about five years ago... Can you still get things like the E40D Transmission Shift module electronics?????

I am interested in a Dually 4x4 and there are none to be had here in Australia, also the simplicity of a non electronic run engine. How about injection pumps and things like that? Can you still get parts readily???

Can you put something like a Garrett Turbo on one of these?? I just like an engine that I can work on, all manual pump and injectors and old fashioned timing sort of thing... (I am a Dinosaur over 50, that likes to tinker..)

Thanks in advance for your help...

Hello Clay Henry,
I suppose compared to my 2003, you are right... However, this one has a Turbo on it, and it says FORD TURBO on the top of the engine... I am guessing that this is a what 1994-95 engine refit, the ONE year of non-electronic run Ford Turbo Navistar 7.3 ?????? That is why the interest, in that I can work on it myself for fun, injection pump and all. The only electronics would be the Transmission Shift Module for the tranny... Anyways, know anything about these??? Still think it will be a Dog?

Thank you, from Australia...
Where parts are alittle harder to get... Ha!

Good reliable old trucks. You can still get parts. It wont be a drag racer but the guys around here that have them (and take care of them) like them.
